Dr Farhat Hussain is a dual qualified Neonatal and General Paediatrician, specialising in all aspects of Neonatology and Developmental Paediatrics. He brings forward extensive expertise, a wealth of knowledge and care in both newborn and child health.
He completed his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine and General Paediatrics. Dr Hussain trained in Paediatrics at Mater Children’s Hospital Brisbane. He completed his Paediatrics Fellowship at Mater Children’s Hospital Brisbane and Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. He has been practicing in Australia for the last 27 years.
He currently practises at SJOG Murdoch where he serves as Head of Paediatrics. With a special interest in newborn care and Developmental Paediatrics, Dr Hussain works with your family to understand your child’s developmental needs and assists in creating a clear plan to support their overall growth and wellbeing being.
He is also a practising member of Millstreams Developmental Paediatric Services, working very closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. This includes Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists.
He combines expertise and compassion, and his care is centred around giving each child an opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential, whilst supporting families every step of the way.
